The cost of tuition should not stand in the way of getting a college education. At Robeson Community College (RCC), 87% of all students receive some financial aid and/or scholarships, and the college’s Office of Financial Aid will help walk you through the application process.

Step 1

File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants should apply early (four to six weeks before the semester for which the aid is required). RCC’s School Code is 008612. The FAFSA application is available online at

Apply early!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be completed as soon as the appropriate tax forms are completed. Complete your FAFSA online. It’s easy and processing results takes about two weeks. Applying online is required and is faster and more accurate. FAFSA online has built-in edits to prevent students from missing required information.

Step 2

After the FAFSA is completed, a Student Aid Report (SAR) will be forwarded to you by email or regular mail and an electronic version will be forwarded to RCC. You should review your SAR for accuracy.

The SAR contains an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which is used to calculate your eligibility for federal financial aid.

Step 3

Once the Financial Aid Office has received all required documents and your file has been reviewed for accuracy, you will be emailed an Award Notification Letter detailing your eligibility for aid. Your award will be based on your eligibility for aid, your enrollment status, as well as the availability of funds.

It is important to note that it is your responsibility to determine if your financial aid awards are enough funding to cover your books, tuition and fees. If not, you will be expected to pay the difference to the college by the payment deadline.

If you have any questions or need assistance, you can contact our Financial Aid Office in the Fred G. Williams Student Center on the main campus, or call 910-272-3352.
